An inspection is under way after two ferries came into contact at Rosslare port this evening.

The incident involving a Stena Europe ferry and the Irish Ferry's Oscar Wilde happened during a docking manoeuvre around 6pm.

It is understood that because of strong winds the port bow of the Stena Europe made contact with the starboard bow of the Oscar Wilde.

Neither vessel was badly damaged but the late sailing from Rosslare to Fishguard has been cancelled and passengers have been transferred to Irish Ferries.
