BAI upholds complaints over TV3's Psychic Readings

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has upheld two complaints about three programmes of Psychic Readings Live on TV3.

One complaint related to two of the editions discussing health, while the other related to the general nature of the programme.

In its decisions, the BAI Committee found that the programme did not meet the requirements that "all commercial communications shall be legal, honest, decent and truthful and protect the interests of the audience".

The Committee rejected two complaints against RTÉ's Morning Ireland relating to separate interviews broadcast on 2 March and 12 June.

It also rejected complaints relating to a segment of the Late Late Show broadcast on 20 April and a Prime Time programme on 17 January.

A complaint brought against the programme An Tost Fada (The Long Silence) broadcast on RTÉ on 16 April was also rejected.

A number of issues were resolved at the Executive Complaints Forum, including an 18 June broadcast of Craig Doyle Live on RTÉ Two and advertisements broadcast on TV3 on a number of dates.
