Gardaí are treating a fire which broke out in a pub in Dublin city centre last night as an accident.

Around 40 people were in Bowe's Pub on Fleet Street when the blaze was noticed shortly after 9.30pm.

The building was evacuated, and no-one was injured.

It is understood the fire occurred in the basement and caused smoke damage to the pub.
