Monthly and annual tickets for public transport services are set to increase.
A spokesperson for the National Transport Authority, which approved the increases, said it is necessary because fewer people are using public transport and revenues have declined.
Increased fuel costs and cuts to subsidies are other factors.
Dublin Bus monthly and annual tickets will increase by 4.2% to 10.3%.
Bus Éireann monthly and annual tickets will increase by 6%.
Iarnród Éireann monthly and annual tickets will increase by 2.5% to 9.9%.
Luas annual and monthly tickets will increase by 2.8% to 10.3%, while other Luas fares are also likely to increase in the coming weeks.
The increases for monthly tickets will apply from 1 January 2013, while the increase for annual tickets applies from 1 November 2013.
