Anti-racism campaign One City One People is launched in Dublin

An anti racism campaign aimed at young people was launched today by Dublin City Council.

The 'One City One People' campaign involves a programme of events and initiatives throughout the autumn.

An Intercultural boxing tournament involving 80 fighters and a project to integrate migrants through volunteer work are part of the initiatives.

Lord Mayor Naoise Ó Muirí said that "Dublin is home to people whose origins and backgrounds come from all over the world."

He continued, "One City One People gives these people an opportunity to share their experiences of living and working in Dublin with each other and with the wider community".

The Dublin City North Volunteer Centre will be launching an information pack on volunteering in more than 20 languages on Wednesday.

While Near 90.3FM is looking for young people to take part in a 13 part radio series on intercultural dialogue with participants doing a FETAC course in community radio beforehand.
