A man has been rescued from a burning boat off the Cork coast.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident after 2pm this afternoon.
The man was alone on the boat when it caught fire, just off the Seven Heads in Cork.
He was transferred to Kinsale by members of the crew of the naval ship, L.E. Niamh, which was in the area.
Members of the naval service and the Courtmacsherry RNLI lifeboat tried to extinguish the fire.
The boat later sank.
The man taken to Kinsale is said to be in shock but uninjured.
