Irish prospector IMC Exploration Group has said it has discovered encouraging quantities of gold following drilling at a test site in north Co Wexford.
The company said the results "show very promising grades, reflecting the polymetallic nature of mineralisation in the area".
IMC says it will now continue to focus on this area, as well as drilling for gold in the Goldmine River area of south Co Wicklow.
This was the scene of a gold rush in the late 18th Century.
