Gardaí in Co Cork are investigating after the discovery of two bodies at a house in Kinsale.

The two men who died have been named as Michael Coleman of Ballinclamper, Dungarvan and Liam Coffey of Cappoquinn in Co Waterford.

The emergency services were contacted at around 6.30am after the bodies of the two men, who were in their 20s, were found in the downstairs living area of the house at Abbey Lane, Mandeville Terrace.

The bodies were found by a woman who is believed to be a partner of one of the men. She had been asleep upstairs.

Nobody else is thought to have been in the house overnight.

The scene was sealed off and a technical examination was carried out. At this stage, the circumstances in which the men died are not clear.

It is suspected that they may have died of a drugs overdose.

However, that may take some time to confirm or discount as toxicology tests are likely to be required after the post mortem examinations.

The post mortems are due to begin in the morning.

House-to-house inquiries are also being undertaken.
