The Medical Council's fitness-to-practise committee has decided to give Dr Iwona Kulczyk-Repec a final opportunity to comply with conditions attached to her registration as a doctor.
In December 2009, the Medical Council censured the Cork GP and required her to work with a nominated person to prepare a professional development plan.
She appeared before the inquiry today for allegedly not complying with that requirement.
Solicitor Diarmaid Falvey said that the claims were not being contested but that his client has only recently been well enough to comply with the conditions.
He said Dr Repec had suffered from depression but now has the required standards in place.
The hearing was adjourned to allow her to submit a professional development plan by 4 October.
The inquiry will reconvene on October 25. In the meantime Dr Recep has undertaken not to work as a doctor.
