Efforts to identify body taken from sea off Co Down

The PSNI is trying to identify a man whose body was discovered on Saturday in the sea close to Ardglass Harbour, Co Down.

A post mortem examination is being carried out to determine the cause of death.

He is described as 30-40 years old, of medium build, 5'8'' (1.73m) tall, with light facial stubble and a round face.

He had dark or black receding hair that was combed back.

The man was wearing a navy blue woollen jumper over a horizontal light and dark blue striped long sleeved top, blue denim jeans and brown casual trainers.

Police are also investigating a line of inquiry that the man may have recently been in the Republic, as he was carrying Republic of Ireland issue euros.
