At least 22 people have been killed in a suicide bombing at the Yemeni police academy in the capital, Sanaa.

Police said the blast happened as cadets were leaving the academy after classes finished.

A witness said he saw a man in his 20s enter the crowd as cadets gathered in front of the academy.

Medics at the scene said dozens more were wounded in the explosion at the entrance to the police academy.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
