Politicians from North and South of the border are to meet in a new forum, according to the North's Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.

The Inter-Parliamentary Forum is expected to be announced shortly.

In an interview to be screened on BBC television tonight, Mr McGuinness said the commencement of the forum is imminent and is expected to involve equal numbers of TDs and MLAs meeting together at Stormont and Leinster House.

Mr McGuinness said the new forum represents the implementation of another part of the Good Friday Agreement.
