Four people have been rescued after their vessel began taking on water off the east coast.

The alarm was raised at about 3.30am. The Kilkeel lifeboat, the Clogher Head lifeboat and the Dublin Coastguard assisted in the rescue effort.

A pump was put on the ''Martin Paul'' and the water was pumped off.

The boat was then escorted back to Kilkeel. All four crew members are safe and well.
