Thousands of people were in Wicklow today for the start of the Round Ireland Yacht Race 2012.
37 boats from around the world are taking part in the 1,127km race around the coast of Ireland.
The boats departed from Wicklow Harbour at noon today.
The first boats are expected back in Wicklow on Wednesday or Thursday this week, depending on the weather.
