The Government has said over €90m in additional lending will be provided to small businesses employing under ten people.
The initiative is aimed at creating 7,500 jobs over ten years through 5,500 micro-enterprises expected to be funded.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, who is publishing legislation to give effect to the scheme, told Morning Ireland that it aimed to help people who cannot get funding from the banks.
