The leader of the Ulster Unionist Party, Mike Nesbitt, has withdrawn the party whip from the former MP, Ken Maginnis.

It follows a BBC radio interview this week, in which Mr Maginnis described homosexual practices as "unnatural and deviant".

In a statement, the party leader said that any public comment made by the former MP should not be considered to represent the views of the UUP.
