It has been confirmed that teaching supports for children with special educational needs will be reduced a further 5% in the coming school year.
Announcing overall allocation for next year, the National Council for Special Education said demand for resource teachers was increasing.
However, a cap on the number of teachers allowed meant all children requiring support would get less.
Last year there was a 10% cut in the allocation for individual children.
The 15% cut over a two-year period effectively means that a child who has been recognised as needing five hours support per week will now get just four-and-a-quarter hours.
The NCSE said it would encourage schools to pool resources and team teach to try to maximise their resource.
