Gardaí have appealed for help from the public in identifying the body of a man who was recovered from the sea off the Cliffs of Moher, Co Clare, on 22 May.

The man was in the sea for about 24 hours. An admission ticket for O'Brien's Tower, Cliffs of Moher, was found in his jacket pocket.

He may have travelled from Galway as a Bus Éireann timetable, Galway to Doolin, was found on him.

He was white, around 30 years old, and 5'10" tall approximately.

He had no distinguishing marks or tattoos, and no scars. He had dark hair on the side and back of his head, but was predominantly bald on top.

He was wearing a black rain/sports jacket, size 48, 'Maier' make. The sleeves were grey and black stripe.

He was wearing a grey Dunnes Stores hoodie with the word 'Brooklyn 62' stamped on the left chest; a plain grey t-shirt - no make; white Adidas t-shirt; black socks.

He also had a black Casio Sports watch, model SGW-100.

Gardaí say extensive inquiries have been carried out both in Ireland and abroad through Interpol.
