Man questioned over Offaly hit-and-run released without charge

A man arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident in Co Offaly has been released without charge.

A file has been sent to the director of public prosecutions.

Father-of-two James Dillon, 29, died after he was struck by a car, which failed to stop, near Killeigh in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He was found on the road with serious injuries and taken to the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, where he was later pronounced dead.
