A number of major events around the country this bank holiday weekend will lead to traffic delays, gardaí have warned.
Up to 100,000 people are expected at a Formula One event in Dublin city centre this Sunday.
There will be extensive road closures around the city centre on the day.
On the same day, around 50,000 people are expected at the Leinster GAA Quarter Finals in Croke Park.
The Bloom Garden Festival will be attended by a total of around 90,000 people over five days, starting in the Phoenix Park on Thursday.
Among numerous other events around the country over the weekend are the Cork city marathon, Tri-Athy Triathlon and the Cats Laugh Festival in Kilkenny.
The number of fatalities over the June bank holiday fell to one last year compared to nine in 2008.
However, gardaí say there is still a considerable level of non-compliance with the traffic laws.
Over 3,000 people have been prosecuted for drink-driving and over 1,000 for dangerous driving in the first quarter of this year.
