A man in his 30s has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Portlaoise.
The incident happened at about 1.25am on Coote Street in the town.
The man was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore but was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
Gardaí are investigating.
