The bodies of twin brothers have been discovered at an apartment in Limerick city.

The discovery was made at the Harvey House apartment complex at Steamboat Quay at around 3.30pm.

The men, who were in their 20s, had not been seen for some days.

Their bodies have been taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital for post mortem examinations.

Gardaí are waiting on the results of the post mortems and toxicology tests to determine how the men died.

The apartment has been sealed off for a technical examination.
