People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett has called on the Taoiseach to show the same energy and urgency in the protection of workers, as he does when he is protecting bankers.
Deputy Boyd Barrett asked Enda Kenny to condemn Cement Road Holdings, saying they are trampling on the rights of their workers by not paying them what they are owed, despite recommendations from the Labour Court.
He was referring to 110 workers of Irish Cement in Co Meath, whose parent company is CRH, who have been on strike since 3 April.
Mr Kenny said a joint statement in relation to the matter was issued by ICTU and the employers, calling for an independent chairperson to intervene in the dispute.
He added that he would like to see an end to the dispute, and that he supports the joint statement.
