225 jobs are under threat this evening with the failure to sell the Brooks Group of plumbing retailers.
In a statement this evening, the directors of the parent company, the BHT Group, said Brooks shops will close on Monday but re-open on Tuesday and that they will issue a statement in due course.
The liquidator, Kieran Wallace of KPMG has said that he cannot guarantee the future of the retailer if the business is not sold in the next seven days.
The period of examinership for the parent group of Brooks came to an end today and the process moved to liquidation.
The liquidator has sold Heat Merchants and Tubs and Tiles to Harleston Group and in the process secured the jobs of the 220 people working in those retailers.
