Bank of Ireland has launched a €200m fund to help developments in the primary care sector.

It says the launch of the new fund follows on a similar fund made available to develop and expand the nursing home sector.

The bank says it has already funded primary care centres around the country that are operational.

It said it is currently involved in a significant number that are in development, for example the Athlone Medical Partnership.
