Pharmaceutical company Mylan is to add 500 jobs to its Irish operations over the next five years in a €380m expansion.
The jobs will be situated in Dublin and Galway.
Mylan currently employs about 700 people at its facilities in Ireland.
Of the 500 new jobs to be added by 2016, about 220 will be based in Galway with the remainder in Dublin.
The company's expansion is supported by IDA Ireland.
Mylan's operations in Ireland include Gerard Laboratories and Bioniche Pharma.
It employs over 18,000 people globally and is involved in making more than 1,000 different products.
At the end of last year, Mylan had revenues of more than $6.13bn.
Speaking in Baldoyle, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said Mylan is a top employer with a 25-year track record in the country.
Minister of State Dinny McGinley said the investment will have substantial economic impact on the Connemara Gaeltacht.
Mylan CEO Heather Bresch said Ireland has proved a valuable location for the company with access to an educated work force.
