The Vevay Inn pub in Bray, Co Wicklow, has been badly damaged in an overnight fire.

Four units of Bray Fire Brigade were on the scene for about eight hours to bring the fire under control.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4.20am.

The Dublin Fire Brigade sent its water tanker and some firefighters to the scene.

Although extensive damage was caused to the pub, there were no injuries in the fire.

The scene has been made safe and gardaí are investigating the cause of the blaze.
