Ten novels, including two in translation and two first novels, have been shortlisted for this year’s International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.

The award is worth €100,000, meaning it is the world's most valuable literary award for a single work of fiction published in English.

No Irish author features on this year’s list. Contenders include books from Australia, Brazil, the US, Canada, Britain and Israel.

The shortlisted novels include ''A Visit from the Goon Squad'' by Jennifer Egan, ''Even the Dogs'' by Jon McGregor and ''Landed'' by Tim Pears.
