A gorse fire has broken out tonight on the Little Sugar Loaf Mountain near Kilmacanogue in Co Wicklow.
A number of units of the fire brigade have been sent to the scene to assess the situation.
Emergency services said they were working to contain the blaze and it does not currently pose a threat to houses in the area.
A fire brigade spokesperson said there had already been a number of smaller fires in Co Wicklow in recent days.
