A man and a woman were killed and two others seriously injured in a two-car collision in Co Tipperary last night.
The crash happened around 10.30pm on the main Limerick to Waterford road (N24), just south of the village of Bansha.
Gardaí said the road and driving conditions appeared to have been good at the time.
The two people who died have been named as Mary Enright from Dungarvan, Co Waterford, and Robert Stoker from Monkstown, Co Cork.
Mr Stoker was travelling alone in his car at the time of the crash.
Mrs Enright, who was pregnant, was travelling in a car with her husband Patrick and another man, Jack Lacey, who were seriously injured in the crash.
Diversions were due to be in place for most of the day while gardaí carried out investigations at the scene.
