Olivia Neubauer has just turned 100-years-old, and she is still teaching children at Ashburn Lutheran School in Chicago, Illinois.
The centenarian began her career in 1935. She then helped found Ashburn Lutheran School in 1964, and has taught there ever since.
Yesterday church members, students and friends helped her celebrate with a cake and songs, as well as a basket of books and cards.
Following the birthday celebration, there was a fundraising lunch.
The money raised went towards a scholarship fund, which is maintained in her name.
Mrs Neubauer attributes her longevity to genes. She told ABC her mother lived to 100, and two of her cousins lived to be 101.
