A delegation from western Canada including senior officials from the British Columbian Ministry of Jobs is visiting Dublin this week.
The group have projected that over 300,000 jobs will become available in Western Canada over the next two years.
Senior officials from Canada will be holding talks with Government officials and representatives of the construction industry this week.
The delegation will attend the Dublin Working Abroad Expo in an attempt to identify sources of skilled labour to help fill thousands of vacancies in the construction and related trades.
The projections are that around 335,000 job opportunities will arise in British Columbia and Alberta between now and 2014, mostly in construction.
The biggest demand is for: carpenters, electricians, welders, plumbers, heavy equipment operators and millwrights.
