The Greek Ministry of Justice website was targeted by the hacking group Anonymous overnight, as part of what it called Operation Greece.
The "hacktivist" collective replaced the Ministry of Justice home page with a black screen bearing two Anonymous seals and an occult image of an eyeball in a pyramid placed over the word "Illuminati" above a Guy Fawkes mask graphic and the words "We are Anonymous".
A green box at the bottom of the screen contained messages in Greek, including a warning that unless the IMF withdraws from the country and the government resigns, all debts of Greek citizens would be wiped clean.
The message concluded with the declaration: "Citizens of Greece, Anonymous is now fighting on your side".
While the Anonymous message was subsequently taken down, the Ministry of Justice website was not immediately restored and a generic server page appeared instead.
