Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Eamon Gilmore has renewed his call for Israel to stop its blockade of Gaza while on a visit to the region.
Mr Gilmore has travelled there to meet a UN representative, NGOs and business people as part of a four-day trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories.
The Tánaiste will meet head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency Filippo Grandi and visit a number of schools and projects operated by the agency.
He will also meet a number of non-governmental organisations dealing with human rights issues, as well as local business people.
Mr Gilmore said he welcomed the opportunity to see for himself the impact the Israeli blockade policy continues to have on the ordinary people and economy of the territory.
