The father of Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has died aged 89.
Paddy Martin passed away yesterday afternoon in Cork city after a short illness.
Fianna Fáil deputy leader Éamon Ó Cuív said he was ''deeply saddened'' by the news and extended his sympathy to the Martin family.
Paddy Martin was a well-known boxer and had represented Ireland at amateur level.
He is survived by his five children and 14 grandchildren.
