Meeting urged after privatisation of the bin collection service

Dublin City Councillors say they have been inundated with complaints about the new privatised bin collection service.

They are demanding a special meeting of the council and the publication of the terms of the contract with Greyhound Waste.

Residents are complaining particularly about the charge of €112 required for collections.

Greyhound already handles green bin collections for the city, South Dublin and Fingal councils.

The company also has the contract for black and brown bin collections in South Dublin.
