A private nursing home in Co Waterford is to close following a court order with the loss of around 25 jobs.
The Woodlock Nursing Home in Portlaw has 20 residents who will now be re-homed.
The order was granted by the District Court in Carrick-on-Suir to the Health Information and Quality Authority.
The Health Service Executive is now taking charge of the nursing home and making immediate arrangements for alternative accommodation for the 20 residents as soon as possible.
Residents were told this morning of where they might be moving to.
HIQA says the closure was due to the nursing home's failing to meet regulations.
Woodlock Nursing Home is owned by Woodlock Residential Care Limited.
The HSE says it acknowledges this is a difficult time for the residents and their families and would like to reassure them that their wellbeing is of paramount importance.
A spokesperson for the Woodlock Nursing Home said the reason the home is closing is because of the new regulations governing such homes.
He said the listed building is more than 130 years old and it would have cost too much to change it.
The 30-bed nursing home is to close over the coming weeks when beds are found elsewhere for the 20 residents.
