Overspending in the health service is at €223m to July, compared with a deficit of €208m in June, according to the latest figures from the Health Service Executive.
Hospitals are over budget by €139m, compared with a figure of €124m for June.
The HSE says the hospitals with the biggest overruns are: University Hospital Limerick €16.2m in deficit, Tallaght Hospital €10.3m in deficit, Galway University Hospital €9.9m over and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, €6.4m over budget.
