A school bus has crashed into a river in South Africa, killing 14 children and the bus driver.
'Only the rear of the bus was above the water' when paramedics arrived, said Andre Visser, a spokesman for the rescue services.
Mr Visser said that 42 children survived the crash and are being treated for injuries and hypothermia.
He described the incident as 'absolutely tragic'.
It happened as the children were on their way to school in Knysna in the Western Cape province.
The province's emergency services department said the children were between the ages of seven and 14.
It is not yet known what caused the crash.
