A number of grenades have been discovered during renovations of a house in North Strand in Dublin.
It is thought the munitions could date back to the War of Independence.
The discovery was made at a house on Strandville Avenue off the North Strand shortly before 11am.
An army bomb disposal team remains at the scene.
An evacuation has been carried out and the grenades were made safe at the scene before being removed to another location for destruction.
The munitions are described as ‘badly corroded’.
DART services have resumed between Connolly and Clontarf stations following the earlier security alert.
