The first ceremony granting of Irish citizenship has taken place in Dublin Castle.
Retired High Court Judge Bryan McMahon led the 73 new citizens in reciting a declaration of fidelity to the nation and loyalty to the State.
The new citizens were given individual certificates of citizenship following which the National Anthem was played by the Band of the 4th Western Brigade.
The 73 new citizens come from 24 countries across five continents. Many were accompanied by family and friends.
