A number of events have taken place in Dublin to mark Bloomsday and celebrate James Joyce and his most famous book, Ulysses.
The novel follows a day in the life of Leopold Bloom on 16 June, 1904.
Today's events included the Bloomsday breakfast at the Gresham hotel, performances at the James Joyce centre in North Great George's St, the annual UCD Bloomsday conferrings at O'Reilly Hall and readings from Ulysses at the St Stephen's Green Bandstand.
The day of 16 June, 1904 was Joyce's first date with his future wife, Nora Barnacle.
Ulysses, with its stream-of-consciousness style, is one of the most highly-regarded works of Modernist literature.
