Teleflex Medical OEM is to create 80 jobs as it expands its base at Annacotty in Limerick.
The company currently employs 143 staff and is involved in the manufacture of catheter and tubing devices to support large original equipment manufacturers in the medical technology sector.
The company is a subsidiary of Teleflex Incorporated, a leading medical device company based in Pennsylvania in the US.
The expansion comes about as a result of growth from existing customers and new business opportunities.
General Manager of Teleflex in Limerick Jerry Kiely said today's announcement reflects a long-term plan to expand production capabilities and improve their current facilities.
The expansion is being supported by IDA Ireland.
Elsewhere, Nua Healthcare is expanding its services this summer with the opening of two additional specialist facilities.
The group provides services across 14 facilities in Kildare and Laois,with the new facilities creating 40 jobs.
Down insurance firm to create 20 jobs
Meanwhile, an insurance company based in Co Down is set to expand its operations with the recruitment of 20 new employees.
Hughes Insurance opened a £2m extension to its headquarters in Newtownards today.
The insurance company was first established in 1977 and started selling car insurance over the telephone.
Today the company has 11 branches across Northern Ireland.
