A Dublin publican is being questioned about demands made to another publican to stop trading within 24 hours.
The 54-year-old was arrested by detectives from Mountjoy this afternoon and is being detained at Store Street Garda Station.
He is the fourth person to be arrested as part of this investigation.
The man was arrested when he presented himself to Gardai at Mountjoy at 4.30pm.
30-year-old Alan Ryan of Grange Abbey Drive, Donaghmede, 20-year-old Daryl Mulcahy with an address at Matt Talbot Court and 29-year-old Derek Nolan from Seacliff Road, in Baldoyle, were charged under Section 17 of the Public Order Act with making a demand with menaces, on March 13 last, to Shane Simpson, the former lease-holder of the Castle public house, in Summerhill, in the north inner city.
Their charges also state that this was to ‘gain for yourself or another’ or ‘to cause loss to another made an unwarranted demand, to cease trading in the Castle Public House and close within 24 hours’.
The three will appear before the district court again on 24 June.
Before the district court hearing a number of people, some of whom had 32 county committee banners, protested outside the courthouse.
The man who is still in Garda custody can be questioned for up to 24 hours .
