Drogheda - Double tragedy at house
Drogheda - Double tragedy at house

A woman has died in a fire just days after her mother was killed by a small blaze in the same house in Drogheda, Co Louth.

It appears the dead woman and her sister had returned to Ireland and were staying in the house before attending their mother's funeral.

The woman who died last night was aged 34; her sister was brought in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

The fire was in the Oakwood estate, Termonabbey, and gardaí and the fire brigade were alerted just after midnight.

They found the house fully ablaze.

While initial indications are that this fire began accidentally, the house has been sealed off and gardaí have launched an investigation.

The fire in the house earlier this week was small and believed to have been caused accidentally.
