A diver who got into difficulty in the sea off Kilkee in Co Clare has been airlifted to hospital in Galway.
He is being treated for the bends, which is a condition that affects divers who resurface too quickly.
The man had been diving from a boat off the Co Clare coast.
He was taken ashore by colleagues and was airlifted to hospital by the Shannon coast guard helicopter.
