Residents in an apartment development found to be in breach of fire safety regulations say they have had three outbreaks of fire near their homes in the past month.
Developer Tom McFeely and his former partner who are also legal owners of the Priory Hall complex in North Dublin received suspended prison sentences at Dublin District Court earlier this month for fire safety breaches.
But residents complain they are still at risk as the fire brigade had to fight a blaze at the weekend after a wooden hoarding was set fire close to apartments and parked cars.
This follows two other fire outbreaks in the past month.
Residents complain that although council tenants were rehoused because of the fire safety risks, private buyers have been left to fend for themselves.
A spokesman for the developers said they are continuing to work on fire safey issues and blamed vandalism for the fire outbreaks.
He added that the hoarding was erected on the order of Dublin City Council to block access to a neighouring vacant site.
A spokesman for Dublin City Council said they are considering further action in relation to continuing breaches of fire safety regulations.
