The first opinion poll since the General Election shows increased support for Fine Gael since it entered Government, while support for other parties shows little change.

The Red C poll for tomorrow's Sunday Business Post found a majority of those who expressed an opinion are impressed by the new Government and think the Taoiseach has represented Ireland well in negotiations.

Red C questioned 1,000 voters between Monday and Wednesday.

The poll shows support for Fine Gael at 39%, Labour is at 18%, Fianna Fáil at 16%, Sinn Féin at 11% and Independents and Others are at 16%.

When asked if they are impressed with the new Government so far, 35% of voters said they are impressed compared to 30% who are not and 35% who did not know.

When questioned whether the Taoiseach has represented Ireland well in negotiations abroad, 43% said he had, 22% disagreed and 35% said they did not know.

However, 41% said they are angry that the Government is not burning the bondholders, 33% disagree and 26% said they did not know.
