Workers at the Ellickson Engineering plant in Waterford have been told today that a receiver is to be appointed to the business tomorrow.
The workers, who have spent the past three days locked out of the factory, were informed by a representative of the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union (TEEU).
Staff were told by text message not to show up for work at the plant on Monday.
Ellickson Engineering was established at Kilmurray in Waterford in 1969 and some of the employees have worked at the company for over 30 years.
