275 new jobs for firms in Antrim, Monaghan

Up to 275 jobs are to be created at companies in Co Antrim and Co Monaghan.

Randox Laboratories is expanding its facilities in Crumlin, Co Antrim, with an investment of almost £16m. The company currently employs 620 people.

Randox produces chemical and biochemical testing kits and devices which are supplied to hospitals and laboratories around the world.

Recruitment is already under way for 242 new positions in sales, marketing and production. The jobs will be in place by the end of 2014.

Invest Northern Ireland is supporting the development and has offered £2.4m in funding.

Meanwhile, Monaghan firm Combilift has announced it is to create 25 jobs over the coming year.

Combilift is a specialist forklift manufacturer that currently employs 175 people.
